AIT BEN HADDOU & OUARZAZATE EXCURSION

Ouarzazate is known as 'The desert door' and the ' Hollywood of Africa'. Located near the Sahara, its fortified cities and its film studios make of Ouarzazate, a very attractive place.
We head through the chain of the High Atlas mountains crossing the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260 m altitude), passing the highest road in Africa, and admire the landscape of Berber villages with some interesting photos stops. You will notice the difference between the two sides of the chain: the North maintains a clear Mediterranean character, while the South is much more arid and Saharian. This is marked in the vegetation, but also in the mode of construction of traditional housing.
Then we continue to visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and it is considered as the ancient and the largest Kasbah in Morocco.
The Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou is the former home of Pacha Thami El Glaoui classified as a world heritageby the UNESCO in the year 1987.
After the visit of the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou then you can have your lunch in a typical and local restaurant. After lunch time we continue to Ouarzazate the Hollywood of Africa where the movie studios are and a stop in front of the Kasbah of Taourirt for making photos and then we take the same way back crossing the high Atlas mountains towards Marrakech.
