Three Villages (Ourika):

The Ourika valley is the most accessible valley in the High Atlas from Marrakech, starting less than 45 minutes’ drive from the city.It is famous for the 7 waterfalls at Setti Fatma at its head, and is a lush valley with green terraced fields beside the river that contrast strongly with the rocky valley sides of the foothills of the mountains. Despite the fact that this valley is so easily accessible.Situated at around 1,200-1,500 metres, this is an ideal area for gentle hiking and is also popular with both Moroccan and visiting artists.

Starting at the village of Arhbalou is very attractive and has a multitude of small restaurants owned by Berber families situated along the water’s edge.

En route we will stop at Oulmès, the area is famous for its mineral waters, fruit (apples, pears, peache
s, cherries, etc..). The mountainous region is provided highlands where you could see traditional Berber homes, and visit a women’s argan oil co-operative. Refresh yourself by stunning waterfalls.

Near the head of the valley, surrounded by the peaks of the High Atlas, is Setti Fatma, a village which is popular with visitors. The village is a relatively quiet typical Berber village, well worth a wander around if time permits. A short walk and a bit of a scramble above the village are seven medium sized waterfalls; however, at times in the year these are inaccessible. If you visit the waterfalls take the time to return to the village. The small cafes at the bottom of the climb to the waterfalls offer great tagines.
