Tour Plan
Day 1: Marrakech - Zagora
Cross the Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains with a 4×4 vehicle. Visit the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and pass through Ouarzazate, a pleasant desert town and the “capital” of southern Morocco. Drive through the stunning palm tree valley of Draa, famous for its numerous traditional Kasbahs (a type of fortress), to Zagora, a beautiful small town at the entrance of the desert. Overnight stay in a charming riad.
Day 2: Zagora - Chigaga Camp
Morning: Take a camel ride (1.5 hours) through the palm grove. At lunchtime, drive with a 4×4 vehicle through typical Berber villages to M’Hamid, the last village at the entrance of the desert. Continue into the deep desert to the Chigaga Camp, located in the middle of the large dunes called the “Ocean of Sand”. Overnight stay in traditional Berber tents or under the stars. Enjoy a delicious surprise dinner.
Day 3: Chigaga Camp - Marrakech
Drive through the desert towards Ouarzazate and continue to Marrakech.
