5 - days from Fes to Merzouga desert & Marrakech

Join us on a 5-day journey through the majestic Moroccan desert, exploring the country’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and vibrant Berber traditions. Our expert guides will lead you on a thrilling adventure through the Sahara Desert, taking in the breathtaking views of the Todra Gorges, the Dades Valley, and the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Fes

Arrival at Fes Airport, transfer by bus and check-in to a charming riad. Dinner and overnight stay in Fes.

After breakfast, we will depart for Ifrane and stop at Azrou, a Berber village near the cedar forest, where we may observe Barbary macaques. We will then travel through the Ziz Valley, passing by a few Berber villages, to Merzouga. Dinner and overnight will be at a hotel in Merzouga.

Today, we will start exploring the desert area by visiting the Gnawa village of Khamlia. We will ride camels for approximately 1.5 hours to arrive at the desert camp, where we will spend the night under the stars in the sand dunes. We will enjoy the desert sunset and a traditional dinner at the camp, accompanied by Berber music around the fire.

Early in the morning, we will watch the sunrise. After breakfast at the camp, we will walk back to the village of Merzouga, then drive to Tineghir and the Todra Gorges, the highest and narrowest gorges in Morocco. After lunch at the heart of the gorge, we will drive through the Dades Valley, where we will see the majestic castles and sand formations known as “monkey toes.” Overnight will be at a hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

In the morning, after breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley to Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The road through the Dades Valley is known as the “Route of the Thousand Kasbahs.” We will continue to Marrakech via the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of the last Berber leaders during the 18th century. After visiting the kasbah, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka (2260m) in the High Atlas, before arriving in Marrakech.
