Day 1: Arrival in Ouarzazate
Arrive in Ouarzazate, a charming desert town and gateway to the south of Morocco. Spend the day relaxing and acclimating to the local culture. Overnight in a comfortable hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Zagora
Embark on a scenic 4×4 journey through the stunning Draa Valley, known for its picturesque palm groves and traditional kasbahs. Stop for lunch at a local riad in Zagora, a quaint town at the edge of the desert. In the afternoon, continue to Bougern, where you’ll set up camp amidst the majestic dunes. Enjoy a peaceful night under the stars.
Day 3: Camel Trekking from Bougern to Chigaga
Begin your camel trekking adventure, traversing the vast expanse of the Erg Chigaga dunes, often referred to as the “ocean of sand”. As you walk, take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the tranquility of the desert. Arrive at Chigaga in the evening, where you’ll set up camp and enjoy a festive evening under the stars.
Day 4: Trekking by Camel to Oued Lmhasar
Leave the vast dunes behind and venture into the mountains, where you’ll discover a new landscape of rugged beauty. Overnight near the picturesque river “Imi n Oued Lamhasar”, surrounded by the majestic mountains.
Day 5: Camel Trekking to Diabi
Continue your camel trek along the river, taking in the stunning scenery and spotting local wildlife. Arrive at Diabi in the evening, where you’ll set up camp and enjoy a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 6: Trekking by Camel
Spend the morning exploring the surrounding landscape on camelback. After lunch, meet your 4×4 driver at Bou oumerad and return to Zagora, where you’ll spend the night in a charming riad.
Day 7: Zagora – Agdez – Ouarzazate or Marrakech
Depart Zagora and head back to Ouarzazate or Marrakech, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of your desert adventure.
