“Desert Adventure: A 6-Day Journey Through Morocco’s Sahara”

Join us on a thrilling 6-day adventure through Morocco’s Sahara Desert, where you’ll experience the majestic beauty of the dunes, the vibrant culture of the Berber people, and the stunning landscapes of Morocco.

This tour takes you on a journey through the Atlas Mountains, the palm tree valley of Draa, and the dunes of Erg Chegaga, where you’ll spend a night under the stars in a traditional Berber camp. Along the way, you’ll visit ancient ksars (fortified villages), enjoy traditional Berber cuisine and hospitality, and experience the thrill of quad biking and camel riding.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Upon arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be transferred to a charming hotel or riad (traditional guest house) where dinner will be served, followed by an overnight stay in Marrakech.

After an early breakfast, depart for Zagora with stops en route at Ouarzazate for lunch, and then passing by the Ait Saoune. Experience the long descent into the famous Draa Valley, with 200 km of date palms that are harvested in October. At Agdez, witness the beautiful landscapes and ksars (fortified villages) before arriving in Zagora, the last town in southern Morocco.

Lunch will be served in Zagora, and then the journey will continue to Erg Lihoudi, where you can experience a night in the desert with Berber songs and a campfire under a blanket of millions of stars.

After waking up, enjoy a quad biking adventure across the desert to the oasis of the Sacred Heart. Experience being in a desert caravan of camels similar to those of ancient times. Lunch will be served in the oasis.

The journey will continue to Erg Chegaga, one of the two major Saharan ergs (dune sea) in Morocco, with more than 40 kilometers of desert and dunes of 300 meters height in this authentic wilderness. Relax and enjoy the sound of the camel’s feet crunching on the desert sand.

The destination will be the bivouac of Erg Chegaga just before sunset. At night, the sound of the tam tams (bongos) will accompany your singing as you direct your gaze towards the night sky, filling your heart with joy and peace.

Breakfast will be served from 08:00 after an unforgettable night. Spend free time in the Berber camp, and enjoy a quad biking adventure around the big sand dunes. Reach the oasis for lunch at 1 PM. After lunch, return to the camp by 4×4 for tea with mint and pastries. An exciting evening will be organized for you to enjoy Berber music around the fire after dinner at 08:00 PM, all away from civilization with great hospitality of the Berber culture.

This morning will be at a more leisurely pace than previous ones. Breakfast will be served after sunrise, and then it will be time to walk in the dunes. Take a moment to sit on top of a dune and leave your mind empty, feeling alone with yourself.

When the sun is high, travel to Ouarzazate for lunch, and then travel north towards the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka pass at an elevation of 2260 meters. See the villages in the foothills with their adobe houses and finally arrive in Marrakech, where your journey began.
